First One-Minute Survey Results

September 14, 2022
By Donald M. Larson, PhD, Head of School

Our first One-Minute Survey is complete. Thank you to the 111 people who responded to the survey. If each person represents one family, this is just under a 60% response rate which is good, but we hope for more participation in the future.

We asked, “What evenings/nights are your students involved in church activities?” Most Christian schools have avoided Wednesday night activities to not interfere with church youth activities. Over the past decade, many churches have shifted away from Wednesday nights, and we wanted to learn if that was true for our students. The survey let us know that our students primarily have church activities on Sunday and Wednesday evenings, so we will seek to do our best to avoid those evenings. With athletics, we are sometimes put in a box by outside forces and have to schedule an event on a Wednesday evening, but our coaches are told that there will be no discipline or consequences for students who chose church over the athletic event. We will maintain this position moving forward.

We value your input and the time you take to complete surveys. They help us with decision-making and allow us to better partner with you as we grow our GCS family. Thank you for taking the time to make us a better school and community.
